Addison Receives AICA Award
Written by Sally Carlson, Communications Coordinator

We are pleased to report that the New England Chapter of the Association Internationale des Critiques d’art, the International Association of Art Critics (AICA USA) has awarded the Addison Gallery Best Monographic Museum Exhibition in New England for the museum's presentation of Chuck Close: Process and Collaboration. The Addison received the award at a ceremony on February 28.

Each year the AICA USA invites its nearly 400 members to vote for the best exhibitions created during that season as a way to acknowledge the exceptional work contributed by artists, curators and dealers in the field of the visual arts. This is the third time the Addison has received an award from this prestigious organization.

In addition, other awards the Addison has recently received include Jennifer Bartlett: Early Plate Work being voted as one of the Best Art Exhibits of 2006 by the Boston Globe and William Wegman: Funney/Strange being chosen as the Top Art Exhibition of 2006 in the New York metropolitan area by Newsday.
