An Impressionist Legacy:
Lawrence's White Fund Paintings
April 24, 2007-July 31, 2007

An Impressionist Legacy: Lawrence's White Fund Paintings is a rare opportunity to view the impressive collection of seventeen American and European paintings belonging to the White Fund, a charitable trust for the advancement of the citizens of Lawrence.

The paintings, willed by the Reverend William E. Wolcott to the White Fund in 1911, have been housed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston ever since. The Addison Gallery's presentation, a collaborative project of the gallery, the White Fund, and the Museum of Fine Arts, will be the first time the works have been shown together in the Merrimack Valley since their donation.

As one of the final exhibitions of the gallery's 75th anniversary year, this presentation celebrates the heritage of our close neighboring city and commemorates the long-standing and ongoing collaborations of the Addison Gallery and Phillips Academy with the city of Lawrence.

Generous support for this exhibition was provided by the Trustees of The White Fund, Lawrence, Massachusetts.
