Abbot Hall
Artist Apartment

The artist's apartment and studio in Abbot Hall are functional artwork designed by David Ireland, and realized in collaboration with architect Henry Moss and J.F. Sirois Architectural Woodworking. Once the attic of a science building for Abbot Academy, Ireland transformed the cramped space into a livable loft that is filled with unexpected materials and artistic touches. The apartment provides living space for visiting Edward E. Elson artists-in-residence who work with Phillips Academy and community students and faculty for extended periods of time.
