Summer Session

An intensive academic program and pre-college experience with courses in a variety of disciplines, an intensive music program and focused college counseling. 550 students, 100 teaching faculty, 27 teaching assistants. Serves rising 8th graders thru rising 12th graders. Program dates: June 26 - Aug. 1, 2007. Est. 1942.

Outreach Programs:

Andover Bread Loaf Writing Workshop
Summer workshops and year-round networking and education for public school students and teachers to enhance literacy and improve the teaching of writing. National in reach, with Lawrence, Mass. as its base. Involves tutoring by PA community service students. Est. 1987.

Institute for Recruitment of Teachers
An intensive four-week summer program, plus year-long mentoring, that prepares rising college seniors and recent graduates from diverse communities for graduate school and teaching careers in schools and universities. 100 students. Est. 1990.

(MS)2: Math & Science for Minority Students
Mathematics and Science for Minority Students -- An intestive three-summer math and science enrichment program for talented and economically disadvantaged African American, Latino, and Native American public school students; 110 students. Est. 1977.

PALS Program
A two-year summer and winter program for Lawrence middle school students from the Leonard, Parthum, and South Lawrence East schools. Provides enrichment in math, language arts and sciences, with follow-up mentoring by members of PA and Andover High School community service programs. Est. 1988.
