Lucas 2008

Marblehead, MA

It's nice to know, at a tender age, where your passion lies. In middle school, Lucas was¬ directing, casting, and performing in plays. Every summer, since age 10, he has performed in summer stock at Stage Door Manor in upstate New York.

So before he began his first year as a member of the Class of 2008, he considered it a “stroke of luck” to have been interviewed by Mark Efinger, long-time member of the theatre and dance department. Lucas says he was unsure about boarding school, but after talking with Efinger and seeing “how much kids loved theater and how well supported they were, that made me want to come here more than anything.”

Nicknamed “Mr. Theater” by his peers, Lucas has done it all-acting, directing, producing, stage managing, singing, dancing. As an Independent Project in 2008, he directed A Taste of Honey, a mainstage production. He also served as a Drama Lab producer. During the summer, he found employment at City Performing Arts Center in Boston. Now off to Northwestern University, you can be sure he'll be putting his Andover theatre experience to good use.
