Those who teach in the (MS)2 program love the experience and tend to return year after year, which means we tend to only have a few openings every summer. We hire teachers to lead courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, English and college counseling. In addition to their teaching duties, every teacher serves as a mentor to a Teaching Assistant. (MS)2 teachers do not have any dormitory duties during the summer. If you are interested in teaching at (MS)², please download the application and send it to us together with your resume and cover letter.
Qualified candidates typically have significant teaching experience, a mastery of one of the (MS)² subjects, and the ability to work well with minority students. Salary is commensurate with teaching experience.

Teaching Assistants are hired in each of the following disciplines: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, English and college counseling. Teaching Assistants spend their mornings in class with their students and then help the students with their work during the laboratories, study halls and in the evening help sessions. They have some chaperoning duties during the summer and help with cultural sharing. (MS)2 teaching assistants do not have any dormitory responsibilities during the summer. Perhaps the most important role the Teaching Assistants fill is that of role model and advisor for these college-bound math/science students who do not always know very much about colleges and the pressures that are present there. Successful Teaching Assistants have strong academic backgrounds in their fields and a generosity of spirit that make their contribution to the program uniquely powerful.
(MS)² Teaching Assistants receive $3,200 in addition to their room and board for the five weeks. Travel expenses are assumed by the Teaching Assistants. A complete application includes an official undergraduate transcript, resume, teacher and employer recommendations. Applications will not be processed until all materials (including recommendation forms and transcript) are in our hands. We accept applications from college seniors and graduate students; on occasion we will consider college juniors who demonstrate considerable depth of study in math, science or English.
We expect to start hiring Teaching Assistants in January. Therefore, applications completed and returned by March 1, 2012 will be favored over later ones, but consideration will be given to late applicants for the positions, if still available. If you are interested in being at TA, please download the application and send it to us together with all other materials requested.
