Andover students are passionate writers. Through student-run publications they are able to craft stories, practice journalism and learn what it takes to produce and printed publication. Below is a sample of current publications for the 2013-14 school year.

The Courant is Andover’s Art and Literary Magazine. Published once a term, The Courant hopes to serve as a creative outlet for students, and to provide an opportunity for student’s creative writing and artwork to be published, something that all campuses should have. On a campus as talented as this, The Courant is a necessary asset to serve as a break from academics while fostering intellect, and inspiring other students. The Courant appeals to an audience of great variety, from anyone who has only written a personal narrative once in English 200 to those who aspire to take creative writing or studio art beyond the high school level. We ‘meet’ online and as needed.
Completely student run, Frontline is published four times per year,
featuring content on a broad range of geopolitical issues. Though regional editors write regularly on topics of their interest, all students are welcome and encouraged to share their own insights into current affairs within four domains: Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, and Europe. There is no application or audition process for writers. At the heart of Frontline lies the belief that all Phillips Academy students should have a forum in which to consider and debate issues of politics, economics, and global current events. Group meets as needed.
The Phillipian is an entirely student-run uncensored publication. It has a faculty advisor, but the student editorial board makes all publication and business decisions. The Phillipian combined its 1950's charter with the Quill and Scroll Foundation's Student Press Rights Position to create six operating principles. Read more...

Submarine is a place to share, review, reflect, and write about the music you love (or not love). We enrich the school’s

Submarine provides students with an outlet to spread knowledge of underground talent, to critique albums, songs, and artists and to bring people together. We meet as needed in the student publications office in Morse.
