Club Description

STAND members don't just mourn genocide - they actively mobilize to stop it! In the past year, STAND chapters around the country have lobbied their representatives in Congress through letters and direct lobbying on Capitol Hill, generated more than 2,000 phone calls to the White House, organized rallies around the country, and raised more than $130,000 for civilian protection in Darfur. In conjunction with the Sudan Divestment Task Force, STAND chapters have also led divestment campaigns at their universities and in their cities and states. On campus and in their communities, STAND students are at the forefront of the Darfur movement, raising awareness, raising funds, and advocating for real legislative action. Join us to make STAND even more effective this term!
