PHIT
Club Description
PHIT (Physical Health Information Team) is a group whose purpose is to educate the Phillips community on issues related to health. We initially began with a focus on nutrition, body image and eating disorders, but have expanded to include education and conversation on all aspects of health. One of the main projects of the club is the junior dormitory education program in which we visit all 9th grade dorms to discuss how to be healthy at PA. We talk about food, exercise, study habits, sleep, emotional distress, drinking and anything else that we feel is important to juniors to help them stay healthy at PA. We also plan programs and activities around campus to educate students on ways to stay healthy at PA.
Often at our club meetings we prepare healthy food for ourselves, from smoothies to fajitas to mini pizzas, as a way of showing how food can be both good for you and good tasting. We also work with Commons to make sure that lots of healthy options are always available there. We are always open to new ideas on how to increase the health of PA community members!
