Club Description

Phillips Academy Language Mentors and Scholars (PALMS) was founded so that students at PA could have access to learning whatever language they want to learn, regardless of class scheduling, time, or whether that language is offered as a class here. The club has accomplished that goal through various means: receiving an abbot grant for the Rosetta Stone language software, creating language worksheets, and teaching each other during meetings. Students are assigned Mentors that guide their learning process, act as teachers during meetings, and partners during events. They can study with their mentors both during PALMS meetings and any time they wish. Weekly meetings offer a fun, relaxing atmosphere where students study a “theme of the week” and enjoy snacks while learning tidbits of their target language.
