Club Description

This year, the goal of Culinary Club is to unite the PA community in an activity that is fun and relaxing. To our prehistoric ancestors, food was very important. Though not quite in the same life-or-death way, food is just as important to us today.

Food is diverse - every culture and region has its distinct foods. Culinary Club hopes to use cooking and food as a pathway to cultural understanding. Different cuisines not only reflect cultural/regional taste, but the ingredients tell us about the nature of the botany, and the students or guests who share the recipes will also invariably have a reason they chose that recipe, a vignette about the culture from which it originates.

Cooking is like chemistry, but even more useful, easier to apply, and pertinent to our lives no matter what we end up doing. Copies of the recipes are given out freely, so you can recreate or improve things you ate!

Bottom Line: It’s really fun. We cook, eat, discuss, and listen to good music.
