Andover Science and Technology Club
Club Description
The Andover Science and Technology Club promotes exploration of current research topics in science and technology through a student reading and discussion group and guest lectures. The topics we will cover include the natural sciences as well as engineering, with particular interest in current applied research and development fields such as clean-technology, stem-cell research, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Each week, members will read an article from a cutting-edge field in science or technology and meet to interpret and apply the key concepts. In addition, we will host several guest speakers per term -- from various local universities, including Harvard, MIT, and Dartmouth -- to present their research to the entire Andover community. Topics for upcoming presentations include neutrino oscillations, the interface between cosmology and particle physics, synthetic neurobiology, and cellulosic based ethanol production.
