Interfaith Library
Begun in 2008-09, through the vision of PA alumna Chelsea Carlson ’09 and with the generosity of the Abbot Academy Association, the Cochran Chapel Interfaith Library was born.
Now in its fourth year of existence, our collection has grown to exceed 150 titles. This expansion is due, in large part, to subsequent grants from Parents of Students of Phillips Academy (PSPA) and through individual donations. Included texts represent a wide variety of religious traditions, from the classic writings of C.S. Lewis, Tich Nhat Hanh, and Hermann Hesse to more contemporary authors such as Anne Lamott, Christopher Hitchens, and Randy Pausch.
Since January 2011, our entire collection is available on the Phillips Academy OWL system and NOBLE (the public library system for towns located north of Boston). In this way, the contents of our library will be available to those inside and outside of the PA community.
