Awards & Grants
The Community Service Program and the Phillips Academy Scholarship Prize Committee award monetary grants to support students who wish to engage in service projects over the summer. Students interested in any of these grants are strongly advised to speak to the committee chair and the director of community service to learn more about the application process. Grants include:
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards come from an endowed fund established to recognize and encourage service toward social change in the spirit of Dr. King.
- The Winton Volunteership Program was established by donors concerned with world hunger and related issues to encourage students to work in community based self-help efforts to come to a deeper understanding of problems facing underdeveloped communities in the United States and abroad.
- The Phelps Award provides a generous stipend to a graduating senior to work in the community, preferably in an urban American setting.
