Office of Community Engagement

People working to repair a roof on a houseWelcome to community engagement at Phillips Academy – the one place on campus that gets you outside of Andover, into something that you are passionate about, with other people you enjoy – all while embracing the school motto of “Non Sibi!”

Our office is a central part of the Andover campus: at some point during their time at P.A., 90% of students choose to volunteer through one or more of our program’s 45 outreach projects.  You choose how involved you want to be: options vary from one-day events to weekly projects to several-week-long trips in the U.S. and abroad.  Projects are running every day of the week, so there is always something that will fit with your other extracurricular and athletic interests.

The Office of Community Engagement is made up of three faculty members, 25 student leaders and coordinators, and hundreds of student participants – but the office itself is just the beginning.  Thanks to Andover’s relationships with community partners in the surrounding area, participants regularly have the opportunity to volunteer in our neighboring city of Lawrence and the greater Boston area, getting off campus and meeting people from outside the Phillips Academy community.

We hope you enjoy our website and find everything that you may be looking for.  Enjoy!
