The Senior DVD produced annually by PSPA is a treasured keepsake for PA seniors and their parents. As in year's past, this year's DVD will contain video footage of the 2010 Commencement ceremony as well as the 2010 prom. Commencement Weekend begins on Friday evening June 4, 2010 with the Senior-Faculty Convocation and Banquet. This celebration (which is for Seniors and Faculty only) begins in the Chapel and concludes in Paresky Commons. Saturday June 5, features a range of activities which guests can enjoy; including an afternoon concert featuring members of the Senior Class, a buffet dinner, and a Baccalaureate Service which may be attended by Seniors and ticket-bearing guests. The Commencement Ceremony is held on Sunday morning June 6. In a time-honored Andover tradition, the ceremony begins with a procession of Seniors and Faculty that is led by the stirring sounds of the Clan MacPherson Pipes and Drums of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Boys wear suit coats and ties; girls wear white dresses and each carries a red rose in the tradition of Abbot Academy. Following the formal part of the ceremony, the Senior Class processes to the Great Lawn where they stand in a giant circle for the distribution of diplomas. After that, the new graduates and their guests can celebrate and say their good-byes while enjoying light refreshment.
