“I am committed to helping rethink the politics and future of the country.”

Alexander - Class of 2008 New York, New York

Destined for the highest order of the Fourth Estate, Alexander spent his years at PA dedicated to political journalism. As manager of WPAA, the student-run radio station, he conducted live Webcasts with famous politicians and journalists throughout the congressional and presidential campaign seasons of 2006 and 2008. He also founded Scoop08, an online political newspaper that provided a forum for students across the country to report on the 2008 presidential election. The ground-breaking nature of the enterprise even led to interviews on CNN and to speaking engagements at Harvard and in Washington.

It all happened in what he called his “48-hour days,” but it’s clear this is how he thrives. Now headed to Harvard, Alex hopes “to continue to contribute to a thriving national discourse in the years to come. I am committed to helping rethink the politics and future of the country.”

“I am forever grateful to PA, my teachers and mentors, and my friends, for such a wonderful experience. Andover helped me think more independently and mature intellectually. The school is distinct in so many ways, but its search for collective knowledge and goodness is perhaps the most inspiring.”
