"Different guest speakers and unique events open discussion for the whole community..."

Jinzi - Class of 2011 Tallahassee, FL

Jinzi looks back on her two years at Phillips Academy and reflects on how exactly she ended up in Andover. “It blew my mind how big the school was.” As a recipient of a Jack Kent Cook Scholarship and Andover’s Julianna Koo Scholarship, Jinzi arrived at PA eager to grow her love for math and play in the Academy Orchestra.

“There are so many smart and talented students here. The teachers really pushed me farther than I thought I was capable of. And because of that, I’ve learned to love what I do on a different level,” says Jinzi. While the Andover campus offered her a major change of scenery, it was the diverse student body and cultural opportunities that affected Jinzi the most.

“All of the different guest speakers and unique events on campus really open up discussion for the whole community, and that leads to a better campus culture,” says Jinzi, who is an active member of Andover Christian Fellowship and Andover Philanthropist Society. “I’m more open-minded now. My religious views have changed, but hearing other people’s thoughts, even though I may not agree with them, reaffirms my own beliefs.”
