“The school has forced me to broaden my understanding of the world…”

Mary - Class of 2009 Archer, Florida

Ask Mary what her favorite field of study is and she doesn’t even stop to think. “Everything!” she says. “ Life is too rich to study only one subject. I love dancing, art, English, Spanish, history, and the list goes on…”

At Andover, the Florida native has thrown herself into her passions with characteristic enthusiasm. She leads Search and Rescue on campus, was a CAMD scholar during her upper year, which allowed her to spend a summer studying migrant issues in her home state, and she is always dying her hair a new shade—even pink!

Mary says her great friends are her favorite part of school, but close behind are her classes and community service projects. This intense, creative young woman says the best take-away from her years at Andover is that “the school has forced me to broaden my understanding of the world because I’ve been exposed to so many different ideas.”
