"I get a much deeper understanding of the course materials..."

Tim - Class of 2010 Rochester, NY

Tim arrived at Phillips Academy as a new lower feeling that he wasn’t pushing himself at his old public school. Once he learned the lay of the land on campus, Tim was able embrace his newfound independence and the variety of subjects available for him to study.

“I love it here. I get a much deeper understanding of the course materials, and the teachers really hold you accountable for learning outside of the classroom.” When Tim isn’t studying, he spends most of his free time as Editor-in-Chief at the Phillipian, Andover’s completely student-run newspaper. “I’ve tried a little bit of everything, but the Phillipian is now where I’m at almost 30 hours a week.”

“Coming from my old school and comparing it to Phillips Academy, there’s just so much to do here,” says Tim. “And it makes me appreciate everything Phillips Academy has to offer that much more.”
