"[During my visit] I got this feeling of 'this is where I belong'."

For David, his spring revisit to Phillips Academy sealed the deal. “There was just a great attitude surrounding the campus. Sitting in Cochran Chapel at the end of the day, I just got this feeling of ‘this is where I belong.’ So I told my parents right then that this is where I wanted to go and the next day we made it official.”
The sense of community became even more apparent for David once he arrived on campus. “I love living in the dorm. We have a really good group of guys. You become really close and develop a sense of pride for your cluster.”
David has played sports his whole life and found it easy to fit in with his new soccer and hockey teams. “Sports here are the perfect mix of fun, friends and competition,” says David. “Even though I was a junior, all of the older players were really cool. We bonded as a team.”
It’s only been a year, but David’s blood has turned Blue and he looks to continue spreading school spirit in the future. “I could totally see myself as a Blue Key head. The cheering, the face paint. It’s wild.”
