Educational Research and Development Lab

ERDL

The Educational Research and Development Lab, located adjacent to the Phillips Academy Computer Center, was designed to support faculty and staff development in technology. ERDL houses 8 Macintosh and Windows computers in a quiet and comfortable environment for academic and administrative work, hands-on exploration, training, and development. Educational journals and magazines are available along with catalogs of current educational software. Projection from a Mac or Windows computer is available for group viewing and presentations. Faculty and staff are welcome to use the lab during open hours or may reserve it for groups with advance notice.

ERDL goals:

  • To support the Academy's commitment to quality education.
  • To support excellence in teaching and working through prudent opportunities in technology-aided instruction.
  • To provide teachers with the opportunity to become acquainted with technology through a "hands on" approach in a comfortable setting.
  • To train adults in the community in the use of a variety of technologies.
  • To provide a rich and protected resource area for faculty to research and develop course materials.
  • To add a new dimension to faculty and staff development.
