Lindsay A. Randall

M.A. 2009, Historical Archaeology, University of Massachusetts, Boston. B.A. 2004, History, Keene State College. With an interest in New England history and pre-history and teaching experience at the Hartford Old State House Museum and Plimoth Plantation, Lindsay is an educator, supervises work duty students and participates in research.

 

 

Donald A. Slater

Ph.D student, Anthropology/Archaeology, Brandeis University. M.A. 2008, Anthropology/Archaeology, Brandeis University. B.A. 2000, Anthropology/Archaeology, University of New Hampshire. With an interest in the ancient Maya, fieldwork at Maya sites in Mexico and Belize, and teaching experience at Brandeis and UNH, Donald is an educator, leads student expeditions and participates in research.

 

Bonnie Sousa

Senior Collections Manager/Registrar

M.A 1996, Museum Studies with a concentration in Anthropology, The George Washington University. Bonnie has experience in collections management, registration and exhibitions as well as a special interest in ceramics and legal and ethical issues in museums. She oversees the museum's collections, supervises work duty students, handles museum research requests and works on repatriation.

 

Marla Taylor

Assistant Collections Manager

M.A. 2008, Museum Studies, University of New Hampshire. B.A. 2004, Anthropology/Archaeology, Mercyhurst College, Erie Pennsylvania. Marla has a background of field archaeology and a broad range of museum experience, including curating an exhibit with the New Hampshire Historical Society as well as years of public interpretation at Strawbery Banke Museum.  Marla assists in managing the collection, supervises work duty students and participates in research.

 

Eugene C. Winter, Jr.
Honorary Curator

M.Ed. 1966. A retired teacher and principal, and an avocational archaeologist active with both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Archaeological Societies, he assists with collections research and the education program. In April 2005, Eugene Winter was presented the Society for American Archaeology's prestigious Crabtree Award for his lifelong contributions to the field of archaeology.

Volunteer since 1991

Massachusetts Archaeological Society Northeast Chapter Member. Ann, a longtime resident of Gloucester, MA, currently identifies and catalogs artifacts from many different collections ranging from Mesoamerica to Maine.

 

Frederick Flather III
Volunteer since 1999

Massachusetts Archaeological Society Northeast Chapter Member. Fred, a semi-retired consultant, has been interested in archaeology since boyhood and works with archival collections and assists Eugene Winter with various projects.

 

Jules GordonJules Gordon
Volunteer since 2007 and Program Director and Treasurer of the Northeast Chapter of the Massachusetts Archaeology Society since 2000

Jules is a semi-retired design engineer with an interest in local history spanning from the Paleoindian to Colonial periods. This led him to join the Massachusetts Archeology Society and to volunteer at the Peabody Museum where he works with the collections database and performs artifact inventory.

 

Jane G. Libby
Volunteer since 2004

Jane, an editor for 45 years, spent 16 years working and traveling with Dr. Richard S. (“Scotty”) MacNeish to a variety of sites particularly in the American Southwest and China. She currently is in the process of organizing MacNeish’s extensive archives that he willed to the Robert S. Peabody Museum.

Scott Sousa
Volunteer since 2009

Scott, a lifelong volunteer at the Peabody Museum, is an aspiring collections manager and registrar.  He is currently having some difficulty in handling fragile pottery, and still chews on delicate organic artifacts, but with more experience, and additional training from our dedicated collections staff, he'll be up to speed in no time.
