Several students get a lesson from Carlos Montanez, associate director of maintenance and utilities at Andover, on the workings of the Energy Management System (EMS) monitor display, which is used to track real-time data on Andover’s electricity consumption in dorms and academic buildings. The home page displays kWs currently being distributed from the power plant. Users can also choose the "Dorms" or "Academic" view to see how power is being distributed to individual campus buildings. The bars will shift as lights and devices are turned on and off. Additional data includes a daily and weekly total kWh for each building. The demonstration was all part of the Green Cup Challenge in which PA is participating. (Photo by John Hurley)
