William Wegman is best known for the striking and often funny photos of his beloved weimeraners, but with the opening of a Wegman exhibition on April 27 at the Addison Gallery, the PA community got a chance to see the true breadth of the artist’s talents. The exhibit, which runs through July 31, explores 40 years of Wegman’s work—work that runs across a wide range of mediums, including paintings, drawings, collages, and video. In addition to attending the opening of the exhibit, Wegman spent a week as an artist-in-residence at Andover, giving him the chance to meet with students and faculty. More than 150 students attended classes he hosted, and some 1,000 visitors—including PA trustees who were on campus for their annual spring meetings—came to the opening of his exhibition.
