Your support of the Peabody is critical to the day-to-day operations of the Museum. By making a gift—large or small—you join a community of donors that believes in the pivotal role of experiential and hands-on learning at Phillips Academy.
- When you support a specific need at the Peabody, you’ll hear about how your gift made a difference in the classroom or in the care of objects.
- The Peabody’s paramount goal is using archaeology and anthropology to support the existing Phillips Academy curriculum. Your support of our education program helps us build creative, hands-on lessons.
- We have just begun to catalog the extensive object collection of Native American artifacts. Your gift to our collections program helps us document what we have and make connections with contemporary scholars and Native American communities.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who help the Peabody Andover meet and exceed our goals of archaeology education. We appreciate your interest and depend on your support.
Featured Giving Opportunity—Adopt a Drawer
The Peabody Museum has a very old artifact storage system of wooden cabinets and drawers, probably installed in the 1930s.
We are currently working to catalog the entire collection, estimated at over 600,000 artifacts.
The Abbot Academy Association generously provided funds for new computer hardware and software.
But, you can help us catalog each drawer!
Your gift of $1000 supports professional cataloging of one drawer, including data entry, archival storage supplies, photography, and inclusion in the Museum’s online catalog, hosted by PastPerfect. The best part is that we will keep you updated about the contents of your drawer and acknowledge your support in the online catalog.
