Wellness Center Will Honor Becky Sykes
May 28, 2015
On a recent visit to campus, we had the opportunity to see firsthand the remarkable progress of the Rebecca M. Sykes Wellness Center. It moved us deeply to see the emergence of a lasting tribute to the legacy left by Becky Sykes on this school.
A beloved leader with a distinct professional path, Becky served as a teacher (Life issues and PACE), counselor, cluster dean, CAMD dean, Associate Head of School, and so much more. Her unofficial role as mom-in-residence perhaps touched us most deeply. She advised us in our studies and personal lives, remembered our birthdays, counseled us when we were struggling. She cheered us at athletic events, performances and presentations. She probably holds the record for having purchased the greatest number of box office tickets in school history.
With incredible momentum and early success driving our fundraising efforts for the Sykes Wellness Center, we look forward to its dedication next spring. We invite all who wish to honor Becky to join this exciting initiative.
Thank you in advance for your commitment. Through our collective support, Andover students will enjoy an integrated, modern facility and the best physical and emotional wellness care available at a secondary school.
