Summer Youth Programs

GUNGA HOCKEY at Phillips Academy will once again be offering a "Learn to Play" program this summer for aspiring ice hockey players! Both boys and girls are welcome. Check out our programs below.

 

 

  

"LEARN TO PLAY" ICE HOCKEY - TOTAL SKILLS

Players should be fully functional by themselves in hockey skates - able to get up on their own after falling, push with both skates and have some stopping and backward skating abilities. Players will further develop and strenghten their skating skills as well as learn hockey specific skills listed below. Similar to Andover Hockey Association's  "Initiation Blue' program. FULL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED.

Summer 2017 Dates: June 21 - August 30 (10 weeks)

Day:         Wednesday Nights

Times:    4:10 - 5:10 pm (8 - 12 yr. olds)

                5:20 - 6:20 pm (5 - 7 yr. olds)

                *"Learn to Play" participants are eligible for Cross-Ice Friday's

                     for no additional charge.

HALF-ICE FRIDAYS

For those who are learning to play hockey, we will host informal cross-ice games for players to practice their skills. *This program is FREE for those in our "Learn to Play" program.

Summer 2017 Dates:     June 23 - September 1 (10 weeks)

Day:        Friday Nights

Time:        5:20 - 6:20 pm        

Equipment requirements for all summer programs: Hockey skates, HECC approved helmet w/ facemask, leg pads w/ hockey socks, elbow and shoulder pads, hockey gloves and hockey pants.
