Scrimmage versus Central Catholic successful

a close match on all accounts. A great tune-up for Andover in preparation for home opener versus perennial tough opponent Loomis this coming Saturday. Every member of the team distinguished themselves in some fashion today; the team finally clicked today, managing to come from behind multiple times for a sweep win.
In the first set saw a 16-11 lead disappear to a 17-19 deficit. Janneke Evans powered Andover back into the lead serving us from 19-21 to a 24-21 lead. Though Central Catholic caught up, Andover's Erica Shin served out the first set 27-25.
In the second set Andover had a 6-1 lead and saw that evaporate to a 10-13 deficit. Annette Bell served Andover back into contention for a 16-14 advantage. Central Catholic immediately countered to take a commanding 16-21 lead. Andover chipped away at the lead, but it was not until Tiffany Baumann stepped to the service line and forced Central Catholic's mistakes that Andover capitalized on her 6 crucial service points for a 25-23 come from behind win.
In the third set, Andover again found itself in the hole at 4-10, and worked its way back into contention at 12-13. Central opened up their lead again 13-17 when Andover's Sydney Baumgardt served 4 important serves for an 18-17 come-back. As in previous sets, Central fought back taking away the lead again to 18-21. Andover had set and match point in hand at 24-22, but drove a serve into the net, three side-outs and successful service point by Evelyn Mesler closed out the match.
