GVS comes up short against a talented Choate squad, 1-0

After 40 minutes of scoreless first half play, GVS gave up a goal scrambling in the 6 yard box early in the second half to bring their overall record to 3-3-1.
The Andover girls were well prepared to take on 2014 Class A finalists Choate Rosemary Hall. The Wild Boars attacked the Big Blue from the first whistle but neither team was able to get into a rhythm in the first 10-15 minutes of play. The Andover defense did a great job of containing the wing play that led to many dangerous crosses which goalkeeper Antonia Tammaro picked off with confidence. Player of the Game and captain Jeanine Moreau proved to be the heart and soul of the squad - dictating the Big Blue defensive shape and stepping with confidence and success over and over.
Andover battled in the midfield thanks to the gutsy play of Olivia LaMarche, Sarah Humes, Courtney Masotti, Morgan Kuin and Natalia Suarez. Up front, Cassie Chin, Krys Swain, Zoe Oasis and Bri Fadden tried to find a way into the Choate box but a strong defense did not let down for the Wild Boars.
Choate scored in the first 15 minutes of the second half and Andover was unable to find the equalizer. Both team should be commended for their competitive attitude and play.
