Ultimate Team Places 1st at League Championship Tournament and Wins the Spirit of the Game Award

The Phillips Academy ultimate team took first place at the New England Prep School Ultimate League (NEPSUL) championship tournament Saturday at Choate Rosemary Hall. The team went 1-1 in pool play, beating the Choate (13-2) and losing to The Hotchkiss School (6-7). In the semifinal game, Andover beat Northfield Mount Hermon (9-7). Andover met Hotchkiss again in the finals and won 12-3. This was the third time Andover and Hotchkiss have faced each other in the finals in the 14-year history of the tournament. At ultimate tournaments, each team assigns their opponent a Spirit of the Game (SOTG) score at the end of the game, based on their opponent's knowledge of the rules, their ability to self officiate, and their overall sportsmanship. Andover won the SOTG award, receiving an average score of 9.25/10 from their opponents.
