PA Boys Run to Two Wins on Family Weekend

Varsity races to a nearly perfect score!
With strong pack and pair running, the Andover boys overwhelmed Deerfield with strength and depth in a combined varsity and JV race on Saturday. Showing the benefits of a strong week of training to an enthusiastic home crowd on family weekend, the PA boys took the first five spots with Ethan McIntosh '15 once again leading the way in 16:18. Two pairs of PA runners followed. John Gorton '15 (17:05) and Paul McGovern '15 (17:06) pushed each other in the last mile and finished together while Colby Lapointe '16 (17:26) and Tom Burnett '15 (17:29) came in soon afterwards. Trailing Deerfield's first runner but right ahead of Deerfield's second, Arthur Doran '15 took seventh with a home course PR of 17:48. A thirty-second PR put Abhinav Venigalla '15 (18:00) in the top seven for Andover and in ninth place overall to round out the PA varsity squad. Andover wins, 15-47.
The solid pack running of Max Lee '15 (18:18), Holden Ringer '17 (18:19), and Jacob Peffer '17 (18:19) paced the JV runners. They were followed closely by BrianPaul Robert '16 (18:26), Kailash Sundaram '15 (18:32), Keton Kakkar '15 (18:38), and Reed Findlay '18 (18:46), rounding out the scoring JV team. The rest of the Andover runners showed off the benefits of their serious training to the home crowd: Noah Belser '15 (18:58), Tevis Vitale '15 (19:14), Jake Zanazzi '18 (19:47), Ethan Brown '17 (19:51), Alex Emerson '17 (19:51), John Wu '17 (20:37), Sebastian Bishop '17 (21:12), David Tsai '18 (22:13), Will Murtagh '18 (22:13), Jeff Zaeder '18 (22:39), Tas Yusoontorn '15 (22:41), and Glib Stronov '16 (24:02) all ran well for PA. Andover wins, 15-50.
Next Saturday (11/1), Andover takes on a strong Phillips Exeter team on Exeter's beautiful home course.
