Boys' XC runs a great race but falls to Exeter

At Exeter on November 5, 2016 at 3:30 PM

The Andover and Exeter cross-country teams carried on their long tradition of strong competition and exciting races.

Racing with Exeter is always good: the runners rise to the occasion and compete at their best. The JV boys did it on Wednesday, and the varsity boys did it on Saturday. The varsity race went out fast, but Andover stayed in it. Exeter's dazzling frontrunner, Atticus Stonestrom '17, was soon leading comfortably while Andover's captain Holden Ringer '17 and Giacomo Marino '18 battled Exeter's excellent Garrett Pitt '17, who ultimately finished 2nd behind Stonestrom. Andover put a total of ten varsity runners on the line. Ringer and Marino were joined by Jacob Buehler '19, Alex Fleury '20, Nathan Goldthwaite '18, Sam Tobin '18, Max Yang '20, Spencer Davis '18, Alex Emerson '17, and Sebastian Bishop '17. Andover thanks Exeter for hosting a great meet and looks forward to returning next week for Interschols.
