Andover earns a victory in their season opener over St. Paul's

Andover’s contest against St. Paul’s featured strong play from its starters, including an exceptional performance James Lewis. He simply could not be contained in the interior, posting double-digit scoring and rebounding totals while contributing a few emphatic rejections. The game also featured strong play from big men outside of Lewis, with Akshay Mundra, Colby Gendron, and Jackson Emus all producing servicible performances. The Guards, led by Captain Andrew Reavis, found Lewis for easy buckets in transition, and scored a bit themselves: Reavis, Freshman Dallion Johnson and senior Kailin Lee all scored at least one three point shot, and all contributed stellar play on the defensive end. Andover’s defensive play, in fact, is what stood out the most as it separated itself from The Pelicans. Heading into halftime holding a relatively narrow lead, Andover held its opponents scoreless for the first ten minutes of the second half, building a massive cushion for itself as it looked to close out the game. As its lead grew, Andover was able to look to its bench to close out the game.
