Golf - Boys V

Phillips Academy supports a spring term coed varsity golf team which plays matches against other schools on most Wednesdays and Saturdays during April and May. The primary purpose of the golf program is to have fun playing competitive golf even though April in New England usually means wet feet, frozen hands and lots of double bogeys. We play nine holes most every day, occasionally 18 on a Saturday. We keep 10 to 14 players to support a seven person traveling team, each of whose members shoots somewhere between 35 and 45 for nine holes. We expect that the top returning players together with the newcomers will again make us very competitive. Practice is at nearby public courses and our matches are played at a variety of public and private courses ranging from frozen tundra-snow to spacious Portsmouth, breath-taking oceanside Kittanset, demanding Crumpin Fox and handsome old Concord Country Club.
