Former Baseball Standout Zak DeOssie ’03 Headed Back to Super Bowl with New York Giants

Jan. 27, 2012 -- Zak DeOssie ’03 helped lead Big Blue baseball to a Central New England Championship in 2002, and his winning ways continue in the NFL as DeOssie and the New York Giants prepare to battle the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

A long-snapper and special teams lynchpin, DeOssie won a title with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. He was a baseball, basketball, and football standout at Andover before earning First-Team All-Ivy League honors for three consecutive years as a linebacker at Brown University. DeOssie was the 116th player chosen in the 2007 NFL draft and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2009.

DeOssie will face a familiar Super Bowl foe in Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. A 1971 Andover graduate, Belichick has guided the Patriots to a trio of Super Bowl championships and was named AP NFL Coach of the Year for the 2003, 2007, and 2010 seasons.
