Four in a Row for the JV1 Girls Soccer Team
Andover defeated St Pauls 6-0 on a beautiful fall afternoon in Concord, New Hampshire, for a fourth straight victory. Five goals were scored in the first half of play as Andover showed its dominance. Keeper Olivia Howell ’11 saw little action all game as the PA defense was impenetrable. Caitlin Clancy ’13 set the tone for the defensive line and played a smart game in the back. Julia Quinn ’12 scored the first goal on a penalty kick awarded for a hand ball in the box, and the second goal came on a direct free kick just outside the box that Kaitlin Poor ’13 put in for a 2-0 lead. Borkeny Sambou ’12, Tafarii McKenzie ’12, and Sarah Schuchardt ’11 also found the net in the first half, with the prettiest goal from McKenzie on a breakaway. The final tally came in the second half with Janki Patel ’11 driving home a great goal having moved from her usual midfield position to a spot up top. Andover brings its record to 4-1-1 and looks forward to coming home next week to games at Isham field on Friday 10/23 and Saturday 10/24 during Parents Weekend.
