Field Hockey V

Andover's field hockey program consists of three teams: varsity, junior varsity and a thirds team for students new to the game. The most athletic and skilled players compete at the varsity level, but players of all abilities can find a spot within the program. Players come from all over New England, the country and the world to play for the Big Blue. Each team plays a competitive game schedule, and each team has two coaches. Players will receive a high level of coaching and instruction as all our of field hockey coaches have collegiate playing experience. Regardless of the team, the Andover field hockey program aims to provide a rewarding and enjoyable athletic experience for all of its participants.

The varsity team is consistently one of the top teams in New England and the team’s string of post-season berths is testament to the overall strength of our program. Several Andover players also participate in the US Futures program, and over the years, many have competed at the US Field Hockey Festival held annually over Thanksgiving break.

Additionally, the field hockey program has proven to be a successful step for those interested in pursuing the sport at the collegiate level. Andover alumnae have played at such colleges as Stanford, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, Amherst, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Colby and Georgetown. Further, several players have even gone on to captain their collegiate teams. If you are interested in a challenging yet rewarding field hockey experience then please contact head coach Kate Dolan.
