Andover came back with a number of corners and shots on goal but wasn't able to score. $0$0$0$0$0Andover beats Milton 1-0 (10/14/09)$0$0$0$0$0Andover dominated the first half of Wednesday’s game but was unable to get the ball in the net. In the second half of the game, Milton came back strong, but Andover’s defense deflected every shot, making great saves through a number of corners. With 6:30 left in the game, upper Ori Idah, in her first goal for JV1, scored on a perfect tip-in from a great cross-shot. Although Andover got it down into Milton’s circle several times in the following minutes, they didn’t score again but hope to leverage the game time on turf into another win this Saturday in the at-home turf game against St. Paul’s.$0$0$0$0$0Andover beats Milton 1-0 (10/14/09)$0$0$0$0$0Andover dominated the first half of the game but couldn't score. Milton fought back hard in the second half, but Andover defense made a number of great saves and kept Milton out of the net despite numerous corners. With 6:30 left in the game, Ori Idah scored with a perfect tip-in from a great cross-shot. Despite getting it back down into the circle again many times in the minutes which followed, Andover couldn't score again but hopes to leverage this game time on the turf into another win against St. Paul's on the turf at home on Saturday.$0$0$0$0$0Andover fails to score against Choate 0-1 (10/10/09)$0$0$0$0$0After a win last year at Choate, Andover was looking forward to welcoming the team to its home field. Although Choate dominated for much of the first half, Andover picked it up in the last bit of the 1st and the 2nd half. However, with just over 10 minutes left in the game, Choate scored the only goal of today's game. Goalie Mallory Tyler had a particularly strong game, making save after save.$0$0$0$0$0Andover beats Governor's Academy 1-0 (10/7/09)$0$0$0$0$0On a rainy day that let up just in time for the game, Andover played at Governor's for the first time in years. Upper vet Katie McLean scored with an assist from Julia Zorthian 5 minutes in to the second half. Despite multiple corners, particularly in the second half, however, that was the only goal for Big Blue.$0$0$0$0$0Andover ties Shore Country Day 0-0 (9/30/09)$0$0$0$0$0After a slow start, Andover dominated the second part of the first half, playing corner after corner against Shore's defense. In the second half, the game went back and forth, but neither side scored. Mallory Tyler, new to playing field hockey goalie, did a particularly strong job, fending off many shots on goal.$0$0$0$0$0Andover beats Loomis 3-0 (9/26/09)$0$0$0$0$0In our first game of the season, Andover beat Loomis 3-0 at home. Andover's relatively young squad has 7 returning players from last year and 10 new players, including a goalie new to the position. Andover dominated for much of the game, scoring two goals in the first half. Returning lower Katie McLean scored both of those goals with assists from returning upper Julia Zorthian. In the second half, Julia scored our third goal with an assist from upper Kristina Rex. It was a great beginning to the season, and we look forward to taking that success on the road for our upcoming away games.$0
