How did you hear about Andover?
My grandpa went to Philips and so the name of the school came up from time to time in my house. Honestly, though, I had no idea of what an ‘Andover’ was until my parents suggested that I consider applying.
Why did you choose Andover?
For the instant feeling ‘this is where I’m meant to be’ that I got the moment I set foot on campus. Before my first visit, I felt weary of a future at boarding school but as soon as I actually got to school and got to see what an incredible place it is, I knew Andover was for me.
Favorite faculty member:
It’s a tossup but if I’d have to pick just one I’d say Ms. Hawthorne. She took what I thought I knew about English class and turned it all upside down. I’ve never learned more in a single year than I have with Ms. Hawthorne.
Favorite class:
English
Why do you enjoy giving tours?
I love to meet prospective students and make their visits the best that they can be. It wasn’t long ago that I was receiving the tour instead of giving it and I haven’t forgotten how I felt that day.
Favorite Paresky Commons food:
Burgers
Favorite Susie's food:
Gatorade
What do you do during your down time?
I listen to a ton of music (most of which my roommate hates). FIFA and NHL for the xbox are also super fun after a long week.
Favorite Andover tradition:
Head of School Day. How can you not love an extra day off of school?!
Best thing about being a boarding/day student:
As a boarding student in a large dorm, I live with over 30 of my closest friends. That’s an experience that as an only child I would have never even come close to at home.
One thing you would change about Andover:
If I made the rules I’d move sign in to later in the night, especially on the weekends.
