How did you hear about Andover?
My neighbor graduated in the class of 2002, and my father and grandfather both graduated from New England private schools.
Why did you choose Andover?
Andover has offered me more opportunities than I could ever dream of anywhere else. The moment I arrived on campus for my tour and interview, I absolutely fell in love with community, and I knew that Andover was the place for me.
Favorite faculty member:
Definitely my Russian teacher, Mr. Svec. He genuinely cares about not only what I am studying, but also if I am learning how to carefully think about my academic and athletic career, and enjoying my time at Andover.
Favorite class:
Russian, because the idea of learning something that will allow me to travel across the world and communicate with people there is simply unbelievable.
Why do you enjoy giving tours?
I love making a genuine connection with everyone who comes to visit campus. At the end of each tour, I hope every family has not only a good idea about what life at Andover is like, but also a sense of every aspect of the school that makes PA so special.
Favorite Commons food:
Caesar salad wraps
Favorite Ryley Room food:
Sugar cookies!
What do you do during your down time?
I like to listen to music, read, play sports, spend time with my friends, take photographs, and hang out on the Great Lawn.
Favorite Andover tradition:
I have two favorites. My first is Andover/Exeter, without a doubt. Being a part of the greatest and oldest high school rivalry in the country is fun, intense, and rewarding, and it is an amazing representation of how Andover is not only a school and community, but also a family. My second favorite tradition is All School Meeting. When we sit together as a community every Wednesday, I feel a sense of pride and honor when I look around at my classmates knowing that they are all from very different backgrounds, but each and every one of them will go on to change the world we live in.
Best thing about being a day student:
I have the best of both worlds. I am on campus early in the morning until late at night, but I still get to go home to my house, family, and bed every night. I couldn't ask for anything more!
One thing you would change about Andover:
I would probably move Graves, the music building, closer to the middle of campus. It is a long walk everyday from music to English!
