Summernet

Summernet is a summer study program offered by the Phillips Academy Admission Office to students entering the academy in 9th and 10th grades. Students who wish to enroll in this optional program take an expository writing course, which includes study of short stories and vocabulary drawn from those stories, or a biology course with library research. The Internet is the medium by which the students communicate with a teacher/coordinator and upperclass tutors who supervise their work. Participants post their work on Phillips Academy's Summernet site. Through Summernet, incoming students meet each other and build skills that will benefit them in their course of study at Andover.
