Born in Bogotá, Colombia, I am a writer who has published two historical narratives, "The Druglord" and "Under False Colors." My forthcoming scholarly book on language and literature, The Language of Dictatorship, will be published in the summer of 2008. I have also published numerous articles and presented papers on Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa at international conferences in the United States and South America. I am currently chair of the Spanish department.
