One of the great things about teaching and living at Andover is the variety of new challenges the school presents to its students and faculty. My training is in development economics, and I worked for several years in the private sector as an economist specializing in poverty alleviation, trade and competitiveness in the poorest countries of the world. I worked primarily in Francophone Africa, but also in East Asia and Central Europe for clients that included USAID, the World Bank and foreign governments. After returning to Andover to teach full-time, I had the chance to lead the International Academic Partnership for seven years, a consortium of some 300 schools in Africa, Central and South Asia, the Middle East and Europe dedicated to curricular innovation and professional development. Currently, I teach world history, economics and African history and ecology at PA, assist in a Junior girls' dormitory, and coach Outdoor Pursuits. Most importantly, I am a proud PA parent of a member of the class of 2011.
