Phillips Academy conducting summer interviews for admission to 2013-14 school year

Interviews for local students will be conducted June 4 - August 31

June 01, 2012 — Phillips Academy will conduct interviews from June 4 through August 31, for local students who plan to apply for admission into the Academy’s 2013-2014 entering class.

In response to a significant increase in applications over the past three years, PA’s Office of Admission strongly advises Andover and North Andover residents to tour campus and interview with an admission counselor before summer’s end.

Each applicant to Phillips Academy is required to have a personal interview as part of the admission process.

“The summer months provide a wonderful time to learn about the school and speak with our admission counselors and student tour guides,” said Jim Ventre ‘79, interim dean of admission. “Our summer tour guides are current PA students from the local area who are eager to share their perspectives and experiences. Admission counselors enjoy a slightly slower pace in the summertime and enjoy taking the time in getting to know local applicants.”

In addition to interviewing students who intend to apply for admission into the 9th grade, PA welcomes interview requests from local students interested in applying for admission to the 10th, 11th or 12th grades. Local high school graduates interested in applying as a post-graduate are invited to request a summer interview as well.

Students residing in Andover and North Andover must apply as day students. Students in the following cities and towns may apply as either day or boarding students: Atkinson, Bradford, Boxford, Dracut, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynnfield, Methuen, Middleton, North Reading, Pelham, Plaistow, Salem (NH), Reading, Tewksbury and Wilmington. Students from towns not listed must apply as boarding students.
