Parents and alumni are invited to participate in the 'State of the Academy'
October 8, 2009 —The State of the Academy will be the overarching theme when Phillips Academy leaders Oscar Tang ’56 and Barbara Landis Chase host a live webcast Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. The program will begin with opening remarks from the President of the Board of Trustees and the Head of School; it will then transition into a Q-and-A segment, during which alumni and parents may email questions or topics of interest.
Questions also are welcome ahead of time and may be emailed to: webcast@andover.edu.
The goal of the webcast is to inform and to engage the Academy community while incorporating an element of real-time discussion. In preparation for the program, in the coming weeks, alumni and parents will receive a link to the State of the Plan—a briefing on progress made towards the goals and objectives outlined in the Academy’s Strategic Plan of 2004. This guiding document, which covers virtually every area of the Academy, from admission and financial aid to curricular innovation and support for faculty and students, is anchored by a singular visionary goal:
To reaffirm the mission of Phillips Academy to be a school that educates outstanding youth from every quarter by effectively challenging them to develop their potential and to depart as thoughtful, versatile, responsible participants in the global community.
We look forward to your participation on Wednesday, Nov. 11. For those who are unable to join us that evening, the webcast will be recorded and posted online shortly after the event. Further details will be available in the coming weeks
