A Worldwide Welcome from the Head of School

September 25, 2008 - Welcome to the new Phillips Academy Web site, whether you are joining us from Boston, Beijing, or any destination in between. The purpose of your visit may be to research a prospective school or to reconnect with your alma mater. It may be simple curiosity. Whatever brings you to andover.edu, we hope you will find the content you seek easily and that you find it interesting.

Our goal in building a new site over the last several months has been to improve dramatically Andover’s electronic communication by developing a Web site that reflects the Academy’s 231-year history and its relevance in the world today.

In addition to creating a sophisticated new design, our Web team and dozens of contributors across campus have written and edited literally thousands of pages of information. They have also reconstructed the site’s navigation for a more “user-friendly” experience. On the homepage, for example, in addition to timely features such as news and events, you will find theme-based student profiles. Each theme underscores a distinctive community value, such as academic excellence, non sibi (“not for self”), youth from every quarter, and openness to the world.
