Free Outdoor Chamber Music Concert Offered July 2

Mistral to offer second performance on Abbot Circle of Phillips Academy

July 07, 2008 — On Wednesday evening, July 23, a local chamber music ensemble, Mistral, will perform an outdoor concert on the lawn of Abbot Circle on School Street at Phillips Academy. The group, in residence with the Andover Chamber Music Series, will perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble, founded by Andover Chamber Music director and flutist Julia Scolnick, will perform the Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, and the Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D minor. The musicians scheduled to perform are Irina Muresanu, violin; Allison Eldredge, cello; and Max Levinson, piano.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an exquisite performance on a warm summer evening. In case of rain, the concert will be held inside McKeen Hall on the Abbot circle. The event is sponsored by Phillips Academy’s Summer Session and the Abbot Academy Association.
