Alumni Everywhere Invited to Participate in Online Learning Program

Winter term kicks off Jan. 18 with offerings in calculus, art appreciation, and French

October 21, 2009 —The Office of Alumni Affairs has announced its latest course selection for the online learning program, “AndoverAgain.” Alumni are invited to join French instructor Natalie Schorr for a tune-up in French, Addison Gallery’s director of education Julie Bernson for a reintroduction to its collection, and/or math instructor Douglas Kuhlmann for a calculus refresher. The online courses will begin Jan. 18 on Andover’s alumni community and are open to all alumni.

Developed in 2005 by Paul Kalkstein ’61, instructor emeritus in English, and sustained in large part by the support of Jana Paley ’81, AndoverAgain has offered alumni more than 30 different courses on topics including writing, literature, philosophy, and nutrition taught by current faculty, faculty emeriti, and guest alumni.

Fall term’s offerings, which are the course “Justice and Globalization” taught by Tom Hodgson, chair of philosophy and religious studies, and the fall book club selection, “Loon: A Marine Story,” by Jack McLean ’66, are in full swing. Spring term will include courses in statistics and history.
